Terms & Conditions
These terms & conditions apply to families registering a child with Garden of Knowledge, a part-time Islamic supplementary school (madrasah) based in Milton Keynes.
Enrolment and registration
- A place is only confirmed once we have received a completed registration form and any applicable registration fee.
- Places are limited due to small class sizes and are offered at our discretion, including on the basis of information provided at registration.
- We may carry out a short assessment before or shortly after enrolment to understand a child's current level.
Fees and payment
- Fees are as set out on our current Fees page and are subject to change with reasonable notice.
- The registration fee is a one-off payment per student and is non-refundable once a place has been offered.
- Monthly fees are payable in advance and cover all subjects taught that term.
- Non-payment of fees may result in a child's place being suspended or withdrawn, following reasonable notice.
Attendance
- Regular attendance is expected — Qur'an, duas and Islamic studies build progressively, and missed sessions affect a child's learning.
- Please notify us as soon as possible if your child will be absent.
- Persistent unexplained absence may be discussed with parents/guardians and may affect a child's place.
Code of conduct
- We expect all students, parents and guardians to treat staff, volunteers and fellow families with courtesy and respect.
- Students are expected to follow reasonable instructions from staff and to behave in a way consistent with the values we teach.
- We reserve the right to ask a family to leave the school in cases of serious or repeated misconduct.
Safeguarding
- The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is our highest priority.
- All staff and regular volunteers hold an enhanced DBS check.
- Parents/guardians must keep us informed of any medical conditions, allergies, or additional needs that may affect their child while in our care, and update us promptly if anything changes.
- Any safeguarding concern will be handled in line with our safeguarding policy and, where necessary, referred to the appropriate authorities.
Cancellation and withdrawal
- Parents/guardians wishing to withdraw a child should give us as much notice as possible in writing.
- Fees already paid for the current term are generally non-refundable, except at our discretion (e.g. relocation, medical circumstances).
- We may, in exceptional circumstances, need to withdraw a place — for example for repeated non-attendance, non-payment of fees, or serious conduct issues — and will aim to give reasonable notice wherever possible.
Liability
- While we take reasonable care to ensure a safe learning environment, we cannot accept liability for loss, damage or injury except where caused by our negligence or that of our staff.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring we hold accurate and up-to-date medical and emergency contact information at all times.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in fees, term dates or policy. The latest version will always be available on this page. Continued enrolment after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
